Lunar Partial Eclipse, 28 August 2026
Event times (UT) for the partial lunar eclipse on 28 August 2026 were as follows (from the BAA Handbook for 2026):
Three members of OASI reported observations.
Bill Barton, FRAS, posted an atmospheric image captured at around 04:00 UT. He observed from near Slough, Bucks, using a Celestron Ultima 80ED spotting scope mounted on a Manfrotto 229 tripod, with images captured by holding a smartphone to the eyepiece.
Jack Gleed used a Dwarf 3 telescope, pointing through an upstairs window, to capture two stills and a video. The stills were taken shortly prior to the onset of the eclipse and around the time of greatest eclipse.
Louis Hood reported an image taken with a Seestar S50 around the time of maximum eclipse.
